Westmoore’s Adyson Palmer
VYPE: Adyson, what events do you swim for WHS and what’s tough about them?
Adyson Palmer: I swim the 50 free and the 100 free, and I would say the hardest part about those events is being faster each time and racing other good swimmers.
VYPE: What’s the biggest improvement you’ve made coming into the season?
AP: The biggest improvement would be my times, I feel like this year has been better than last.
VYPE: Which teammate is the most vocal and who keeps everyone laughing?
AP: the most vocal teammate is our captain Madison and the one who makes everyone laugh is Lincoln.
VYPE: What do you love most about this team and your teammates?
AP: I love everything about my team, they are very fun to swim with but if I had to choose I would say probably the support. They always know how to show up and give it their all for our fellow teammates.
VYPE: Who inspires you?
AP: The person who inspires me to swim, would have to be my team. They all are very good swimmers and make me want to be better. We always make it a little competition between each other if we happen to be racing each other.
VYPE: What is your favorite subject in school and who is your favorite teacher?
AP: My favorite subject in school is science and my favorite teacher would have to be my zoology teacher, who helped me realize what I wanted to do with my future.
VYPE: Tell us your favorite moment as a swimmer?
AP: My favorite moment will always be when two people from the team put on tutus and cheer for the teammates swimming.
VYPE: What has athletics taught you that will help you in life?
AP: It’s taught me how to keep pushing myself, even when it’s hard. That no matter what you need to keep going until you reach the finish line.
VYPE: How do you like to spend your free time?
AP: In my free time I like to paint and draw, along with listen to music and just relax.
