VYPE: What goals do you have for this year in wrestling?
Brady Huffer: This year my goals in wrestling are to qualify individually for state and to qualify for and wrestle dual state with my team.
VYPE: What has wrestling taught you that you use in your daily life?
BH: Wrestling has taught me consistency in my routine. It has taught me mental toughness and to have a strong mindset. Wrestling has also taught me to not just rely on others but to rely on myself and to never give up.
VYPE: What’s your go-to move as a wrestler?
BH: My go to moves are a single leg and a high crotch.
VYPE: Who inspires you and why?
BH: My coaches inspire me – not only do they push me to be a great wrestler they also push me to be a great person off the mat as well. They are invested in me not only as an athlete but as a human and they are invested in my future. They support me in any way they can and are always there when I need anything.
VYPE: What do you think makes a great wrestler?
BH: I think being a great wrestler isn’t defined just as being good at wrestling or having the most medals or achievements. I believe a great wrestler is someone who works hard on and off the mat – someone who puts in the work when no one is watching.
VYPE: Who in your family is the best athlete? Explain.
BH: I would say I am the best athlete in my household. I am in my senior year of high school and am still a two-sport athlete. I have both wrestled and played baseball since I was very little. I believe I compete at a higher level because of what each sport has given me and taught me.
VYPE: What’s one sport you wish you could play that you don’t already play?
BH: I wish I could have played golf. I think it would be a great game to know how to play because it is very professional, businessmen and women often play golf which helps with networking, and it is also just fun to play casually.
VYPE: What’s your go-to pregame song?
BH: So Fresh, So Clean by OutKast. When I listen to this song I loosen up and relax, it puts me into a groove or flow that makes me want to move around while I am on the mat.
