Q&A with Westmoore’s Naomi Perkins
VYPE: What is your expectation for the season?
Naomi Perkins: My expectation for this season is to host a regional and make it to state again.
VYPE: What do you love most about your team and teammates at Westmoore?
NP: I love how individually different we are. Some people hold different needs for this team, and it makes the team have more diversity when we get stuck in a rotation. I also love how young are team is, I love seeing everyone grow and help the younger ones grow more.
VYPE: Who inspires you?
NP: My cousin, Josiah, inspires me. He works extremely hard, and it just makes me want to work hard as well.
VYPE: Favorite subject in school and favorite teacher from any grade?
NP: My favorite subject in school is math when I understand it, and Ms. Coggins is my favorite teacher.
VYPE: What position do you play?
NP: I’m an outside hitter.
VYPE: What other clubs or groups do you belong to at school?
NP: NHS and starting Sep 10th I will be involved in Young Women in Leadership.
VYPE: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
NP: I enjoy shopping whether that’s online or in person.
VYPE: When did you first start playing volleyball?
NP: Sixth grade but I started getting serious in eighth grade.
VYPE: What grade are you in this year?
NP: I’m a junior.
VYPE: What would you like to do after you graduate?
NP: I want to be an Orthopedic Doctor.
