SOUTHMOORE SABERCATS
Coach: TIM STOGSDILL
2024-25 Record: 20-8
OUTLOOK
There are many reasons fans of the SaberCats are excited to get this season started. For head coach Tim Stogsdill, following up a 20-8 season could mean this team has grown into a contender.
“SaberCats are poised to compete among Class 6A’s elite. With three returning starters, the team is focused on securing a state tournament berth and making a championship run.

Leading the team is junior Tyson Pogi, Oklahoma’s top-ranked Class of 2027 player, who averaged 22 points per game last season and was named the 2025 COAC Offensive Player of the Year. Fellow juniors Jasper Chaves and Gabe Willingham return as key contributors in scoring and rebounding,” coach Stogsdill said.
Tyson Pogi (6-1, Jr.) is one of the top guards in the state. Pogi averaged more than 20 points with 5.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals a game. Jasper Chaves (6-5, Jr.) is a nice compliment to Pogi. The forward, who can also play guard, averaged 7.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists last season. Also look for Treyden Williams (6-7, So.) at forward. Williams had a great summer and is poised for a breakout season.
Gabe Willingham (6-6, Jr.) and Merrick Gregory (6-5, Jr.) are two hybrid type players who give the SaberCats a presence inside. As a sophomore, Willingham averaged 4.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game.
Trey Summers (6-0, Jr.) is another guard who figures into the scheme for Southmoore. His contributions will be felt in many ways including on the defensive end of the court.
“New additions Trey Summers and Merrick Gregory are expected to make immediate two-way impacts. Junior Omon Canady and sophomore Tysen Sims add depth and athleticism.
Veterans Brayden Smith and Mason Broussard, the team’s only seniors, provide leadership on and off the court,” coach Stogsdill said.
