Rielyn is an embodiment of dedication and perseverance, a determined athlete who constantly pushes her limits in pursuit of excellence. Her determination drives her to set ambitious goals, and her discipline ensures she follows through on every step required to achieve them. It isn’t just about winning for her; it’s about continually becoming the best version of herself as an athlete.
Her journey into cross country began when she was 12-years old. Now a senior at Washington High School, Scheffe said the team pushes one another to get better.
“We are competitive amongst each other and that pushes us each to get better. My best run has been OBU with a 12:19 two-mile,” said Scheffe.
Like many of her peers, Scheffe has her favorites.
“My favorite has to be the Waurika course we run for regionals because it gives me a chance to see my competitors for state and how I can better prepare,” said Scheffe.
Scheffe is involved in several school activities including cheer, track, National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Science Club, FCCLA, and FCA. The senior said she enjoys math, and her favorite teacher is Mrs. Barker, her Calculus teacher.
When discussing her influences and friends Scheffe said coach James Lampkin has played a big role in her life as an athlete, “he always believed in me,” said Scheffe. Digging deeper, we wanted to know who she can always count on, someone she loves to run with, who always makes her laugh, who she admires, and who she would like with her if stranded on an island.
“Someone I can always count on is Leksi Rector. I love to run with my sister, Laylin Scheffe. Aubrey Grimes keeps me laughing. I admire my sister; Laylin Scheffe and I would want my dad with me if I’m stranded on an island.”
