Ivan Antwi-Donkor has big goals for the current basketball season. Antwi-Donkor puts in the work to make his goals come true.

“I train after school and on the court. My hard work is paying off, and my jump shot percentage is increasing, meaning my shooting abilities are improving,” said Antwi-Donkor.

Antwi-Donkor started playing basketball in seventh grade.

“My friends would play and invite me to play with them. I then enjoyed the game and decided to try out for my school’s team,” said Antwi-Donkor.

Playing for Westmoore’s basketball team, Antwi-Donkor enjoys practicing with his teammates as they help him strive for more.

“My teammates give me energy and motivate me; they keep my head up. What I love the most about my sport is being with the guys and having fun,” said Antwi-Donkor.

Antwi-Donkor was named MVP at the Norman Tournament vs. Bentonville, Arkansas.

“We were losing at half time, so we challenged him to be an aggressive playmaker for us, and he responded. We won the game and the tournament,” Head Boys’ Basketball Coach Michael Milwee said.

Antwi-Donkor added, “Winning the Norman tournament made me feel proud of myself for my accomplishments. Coach Milwee helped me have a better mindset, and it helped me achieve more.”

“Ivan has a bright future in basketball and beyond. He does well in school, is well-spoken, and makes good decisions that will lead to success in whatever he chooses to do after his basketball career is over,” said Coach Milwee.

As a junior, Antwi-Donkor hopes to receive scholarships within the next year.

“Colleges have been looking at me, but I haven’t committed yet. I want to make it to the state tournament, and then I’ll see what’s next,” said Antwi-Donkor.
