Westmoore’s Kaysie Gallope – Wrestling Spotlight – Presented by Paul Michael – Shelter Insurance

When Westmoore High School senior Kaysie Gallope steps onto the mat, she is focused on one thing, getting the win.

Gallope started wrestling when she was a sophomore and has enjoyed many memorable moments since becoming a wrestler.

“One of my favorite moments is when we went to the Kansas City Stampede. I had so much fun hanging out with my teammates and traveling,” said Gallope.

This season Gallope has focused on improving her technique and learning new moves that will help her succeed on the mat.

“I would say my strength is my defensive side of my wrestling I’ve always been pretty good with my sprawls and snapping but this year I’ve improved my offensive side a lot gaining the confidence and aggression to actually shoot and do more the just rely of my defense,” said Gallope.

Her teammates are working just as hard to ensure the Lady Jags wrestling team can compete at a high level while having fun.

“One of the teammates who keeps everyone laughing is Ranelle Smith she’s always fun to be around and jokes around all the time but still works hard,” Gallope said. “The most serious person on our team I would say is our twins Kyrstan and Kyrain Perez. It’s hard to pick but these two are more experienced and honestly just always know what to do and say they although they can be very serious are also super funny and great people to be around!”

Gallope plans to attend college after high school at Rose State where she will play softball and study business and marketing.
