2024-2025 Bethany Bronchos Basketball Preview

Coach: Brett Cannon

23-24 Record: 19-9

OUTLOOK

As the season gets underway, Bethany High School and head coach Brett Cannon are poised for another great season and a potential deep run in the state tournament.

“Last year we were ranked anywhere from No.3-No.9 during the entire season. We return all five starters and all three players off the bench who played meaningful minutes. We also have a 6-foot-5 freshman incoming that will help. We have lost in the area games two years in a row and are looking to get over the hump and make a serious run this year. We will start five seniors with another being the sixth man,” said coach Cannon.

Aiden Todd (5-11, Sr.) starts at point guard where he averaged 18 points, 5.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds a game. Todd is a go-to player for the Bronchos. During his time at BHS, Todd has started all four years of school and was named captain for the second year in a row. Todd will play at the next level. As will Lukas Wooldridge (6-5, Sr.) who can play guard or forward. Wooldridge has a nice outside shot and has two offers to play at the next level. Both guys are VYPE Top 100 selectees.

Wyatt Geissler (5-8, Sr.) and Jackson Payne (6-3, Sr.) will help the Bronchos on the offensive end of the court averaging 13 points and 8.0 points respectively. Together, Geissler and Payne will make things difficult for opposing offenses who look to stop Todd and Wooldridge. Both Geissler and Payne are three-sport athletes and play a decent round of golf.

Garrett Johnson (6-2, Sr.) at forward rounds out the starting five. Johnson averaged 6.0 points with 4.0 rebounds last season, and he should see those numbers increase this year. Johnson could be the X-factor for the Bronchos this season.

Other players to watch include Denton Jaggers (6-3, Jr.) at forward, Braxton Mullins (5-11, Sr.) at guard, Breck Brady (6-5, Fr.) at forward, Will Walstad (6-5, Sr.) at forward, Landon Hess (6-0, Sr.) at guard, Wyatt Keefer (6-0, So.) at guard, Malachi Chatman (6-0, So.) at guard, Seth Greiner (5-10, Jr.) at guard, Erick Butler (6-2, Sr.) at forward, Landon Lote (5-10, Jr.) at guard, and Jagger Weaver (5-10, Jr.) at guard.
