2024 Bethany Bronchos Football Preview – Presented by Smith Farm & Garden

BETHANY BRONCHOS

Coach: JON ARTHUR

6-5

OFFENSE

There are a lot of positives for the Bronchos coming into the 2024 season and head coach Jon Arthur is ready to get his guys on the field. “We return almost all of our skill position players on the offensive side and 8-of-11 starters on defensive. Looking forward to having a good nucleus of guys back from last year,” said Arthur. Wyatt Geissler (5-10, 175, Sr.) returns at wide receiver giving quarterback Jackson Payne (6-2, 180, Sr.) a solid target in the passing game. Geissler is an excellent route runner and someone who can help younger receivers mature into their roles. Judson Gilliland (5-11, 185, Jr.) will tote the rock for the Bronchos again this season. “Judson is one of the most naturally gifted players we’ve ever had. He is physical and has great instincts on the defensive side of the ball. On offense he can play almost any skill position and we will use him in a variety of ways. He runs it well, can play QB, and will be a guy we try to get the ball to in a variety of ways,” said Arthur. The multiple set offensive line is anchored by Ben Sailer (6-3, 260, Sr.). Sailer loves the battle in the trenches and guys like Payne and Gilliland love having him on the team.

DEFENSE

Gilliland will play both ways for the Bronchos at linebacker. His speed allows him to be a productive tackler and someone the offense must account for on every snap. Devonta Melton (5-11, 215, Sr.) joins Gilliland at linebacker giving the defense two players who arrive at the football with purpose. Add outside linebacker Garrett Johnson (6-0, 185, Sr.) to the mix and you have a formidable trio to contend with on every play. The Bronchos will base in a 4-2-5 with Charlie Tolle (6-2, 180, Sr.) starting at end. Tolle has good length and once he turns the corner, he is laser focused on getting to the quarterback. Evenson Malaska (5-11, 180, Jr.) is one of several returning players with experience in the secondary. Also look for Jackson Dull at DE. It is said Dull is willing to do anything for his teammates and is one of the hardest workers on the team. The coaching staff consists of Adam Forester (AHC/SP), Ryan Morgan (Co-DC/LB), Sean Williams (Co-DC/DB), Jacob Pennington (OL/Run Game), Ryley Claborn (QB/Pass Game), Manuel Gonzales (DL), Kevin Price (OL), Dalton Stout (WR), and Dale Brown (OLB).
