WESTERN HEIGHTS JETS
Coach: MARK RYAN
1-9
OFFENSE
As head coach Mark Ryan and offensive coordinator Mac Brown look to jumpstart the offense for the Jets, several players are making a big difference for the program by being involved in summer pride and embracing the opportunity they have with this coaching staff. “We are building a program from the ground up. We are seeing the young people show up for summer pride and we are seeing players start to make advancements. Our outlook for this season is to be successful in all aspects, on the field and in the classroom and developing young people to be the version of themselves,” said coach Ryan. Jeremy Tash (5-11, 150, Jr.) is all heart and hustle on the field. Tash is a threat on the edge and will stretch the field with his speed. With excellent footwork and explosiveness, Tash should become one of the go-to targets in the passing game. Kenan Towol (5-11, 140, Fr.) is a young and exciting quarterback the Jets will lean on this season. Towol turns heads with his athleticism, leadership and poise. “Kenan is a special kind of freshman. He’s smart,
tough, and eager to learn. Whether he’s running the offense or holding the back end of our defense, he brings great energy and focus. He’s going to be a key piece of our program moving forward,” said coach Ryan. Another player in the passing game to watch is Dequone Mosley (5-9, 135, Fr.), another underclassman with a tremendous high side. Expect maximum effort from Mosley on every play. Manuel DelaPaz (5-11, 215, Jr.) and Desmond Williams (5-7, 205, So.) anchor the offensive line. Look for DelaPaz to play guard or center while Williams will likely play tackle.

DEFENSE
As coach Ryan mentioned, Towol will start at safety on the defensive side of the ball giving the secondary an athletic player who can spot the ball and get to it. Tash will also see time in the secondary at cornerback with Triston Young (6-2, 175, Jr.). Young is a big corner who can compete with any receiver in the class. Young will also play WR on offense. Coach Ryan said Young is the type of player every coach wants on the field. Defensive coordinator Stoney Burt is excited to have Young in the lineup alongside Mosely at safety and Isaiah Mitchell (5-9, 145, Fr.) at safety. Mitchell has all the tools to be a special player. The same can be said for Jamel Smith (5-7, 135, So.) who will play multiple positions for the Jets including safety, WR and quarterback. Known for being one of the smartest players on the field, Smith is key to the future of the program and someone the coaching staff believes can help lead this team. Hunter Richard (5-11, 210, So.) and Efren Flores (5-8, 215, Jr.) are two defensive linemen who join DelaPaz and Williams up front. Richard can play center on offense and Flores is a solid choice at guard. Tash is another two-way player who will start at corner where he can put an opponent’s best WR on lockdown. The coaching staff consists of Walter Ryan, Rickey Myers, Randy Tilley, and Pierce Spencer.
