Athlete Spotlight with Blanchard’s Kamryn Haney – Presented by  – Presented by Landers Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Norman

Blanchard High School senior Kamryn Haney has enjoyed a great senior year with her teammates on the mat and with her classmates at BHS.

“This season was super fun full of great memories and friendships, but also bittersweet because it’s my last year,” said Haney.

The senior started cheering when she was only four years old, but just because she is graduating high school, does not mean her cheer career is coming to an end.

“My goal in life is to go to Oklahoma Baptist University for nursing. I am proud of my commitment to OBU for cheer,” said Haney.

Leaving the friendly halls of Blanchard High School will be tough thanks to the schools commitment to all of their students.

“The faculty makes sure to have supportive and knowledgeable coaches that will make us the best version of our selves whether it’s on the mat or in the classroom. They also make sure that we get recognition and rewarded for our achievements in both sports and academics. Also if you are struggling in a certain subject the teachers will go above and beyond to make sure that you can manage your classwork with your sports,” said Haney.

As for the team, Haney said she has been very proud of everyone’s effort and the work they put in to make this a great season.

“I have been really impressed with my best friend Emma Price. This past season she’s had a mental block on her tumbling, and she’s been working hard every day to get it back, and recently she’s got it back! so super proud of her! I love how uplifting they can be when a stunt or a routine wasn’t perfect, they would always encourage one another,” said Haney.

On or off the mat, Haney said she can always count on her mom.

“My mom inspires me the most because she’s so strong and always goes for what she wants no matter how long it takes. She never gives up,” said Haney.
