PRESLEY GOODMAN
BRIDGE CREEK
California transplant Presley Goodman is back on the soccer pitch for Bridge Creek this spring after a two-year injury rehab and wants to make an impact her senior year. And according to her soccer coach Annie Crick she has the ability to do just that.
“Presley was an impact player from the first day she came to Bridge Creek her freshman year. As an attacking mid-fielder, she’s the piece of the puzzle that connects all the dots for us.”
Her loss has had an impact on the team that was 11-2 and went to the second round of the playoffs her freshman year to a 3-9 mark last year.
One of five sisters, Presley started playing soccer at the age of four with her twin sister Payton in California and soon after she was playing club soccer and then they moved to Oklahoma.
“That first year it wasn’t easy to make friends, but I had my sisters and that helped. I made varsity my freshman year and that was nice,” said Presley.
Also that freshman year, their athletic director introduced the girls to cross country which Presley loved right away and has had some success in as we’ll discuss later.
Then came the ACL injury at the start of her sophomore soccer season.
“Going to watch Payton play club ball and school ball while I had to watch was probably the hardest part of it. Some days I would feel good and some days I would hurt so bad I didn’t want to get out of bed. But Payton and my other sisters were there to help me and encourage me. Then there was physical therapy, and I was crying every day because I couldn’t do the things I used to do.”
Presley was finally able to return to cross country last fall and helped the team make state.
“It was a little scary going to state because we went my sophomore year, and I did terrible. But this year I ended up making my PR for the year at state so that was great.”
Presley played in a rec soccer league during the offseason to regain her confidence and says her goal this season is to get the Bobcats back to the playoffs.
