VYPE: As a senior, how has your role changed this year?
Kylann Dobbs: My role has evolved into being a leader both on and off the floor.
VYPE: How do you feel your game has grown since last season?
KD: I feel like my offense has improved most since last season. I have gained more confidence in my shot and have been looking for more opportunities to score.
VYPE: What’s a moment this season you were especially proud of your team?
KD: In the Bethel tournament, we came back from being down by 20 to win the game against Eufaula. We really pulled together and played as a team, and it was a really fun win that felt good.
VYPE: What makes your team unique?
KD: Our team is unique in a lot of ways, but one that really stands out most is our team chemistry. We work hard, and we play hard too.
VYPE: Who has surprised you with their growth this season?
KD: My fellow senior, Addy Schmidt. She has really stepped up and made some big plays and fell right into that senior leadership role.
VYPE: What’s one of the biggest lessons basketball has taught you?
KD: One of the biggest lessons basketball has taught me so far is that hard work pays off. Having a good work ethic and not cheating yourself always brings positive results. I feel like that can be applied to all aspects of life.
VYPE: What are your goals for this season?
KD: My goal for myself and my team this year is work hard every game and exceed what we were able to accomplish last season.
VYPE: How do you handle challenges and setbacks on the court?
KD: Challenges and setbacks on the court are inevitable, but I believe that knowing there are always ways to improve, always things to learn, and being receptive to making the adjustments that are needed are ways that help me to power through tough situations.
VYPE: How does your team celebrate each other?
KD: My team loves to celebrate each other whether it’s big plays, wins, or just a good practice. We are always hyping each other up and keeping the energy level high.
