Q&A with Blanchard’s Noah Smith

VYPE: Can you introduce yourself by sharing your name, grade, and the position you play on the football team?
Noah Smith: My name is Noah Smith. I am in 11th grade, and I play the position of quarterback.
VYPE: What does playing football at your school mean to you personally?
NS: It means everything to play with a town the does nothing but support you.
VYPE: A lot of players talk about games, but practices are where most of the work is done. What’s your favorite part of practices?
NS: My favorite part of practices is “PUP,” which stands for pass under pressure.
VYPE: Football can be a demanding sport both physically and mentally. On the hard days, how do you keep yourself motivated and moving toward your goals?
NS: I have to just tell myself that there is a goal that I want to accomplish.
VYPE: Who on your team pushes you the most to get better, and in what ways do they influence you?
NS: Cole Watkins, one of my wide receivers. We definitely have the best communication skills with each other. If times get hard then I know he’ll be there.
VYPE: What’s one lesson you’ve learned from your coaches that you’ll carry with you beyond football?
NS: I’ve learned that football is more than just a game.
VYPE: Do you have any traditions or routines on game day that keep you focused?
NS: I like to watch some film and then maybe take a quick nap.
VYPE: Outside of football, what’s something most people don’t know about you?
NS: Outside of football I really love to fish.
VYPE: When you look back years from now, what do you hope you’ll remember most about your high school football experience?
NS: When I look back I hope I remember the crazy ride. All the relationships I’ve made from football has made me a better man.
