Q&A with Newcastle’s Ben Rogers
VYPE: Ben, how long have you played the game of football?
Ben Rogers: I’ve been a Newcastle Racers since the first grade.
VYPE: What grade are you in now and what position are you playing?
BR: I’m in my junior year and I play running back and strong safety.
VYPE: Are you involved in any other sports at NHS?
BR: I’m in track.
VYPE: Who inspires you?
BR: My mom probably she goes through more than anyone I know and she still is always going out of her way to do something for someone else.
VYPE: What do you love most about this group of teammates at NHS?
BR: What I love most about my teammates is we always are going to be there for one another despite our differences.
VYPE: What is your favorite subject in school and who is your favorite teacher?
BR: Favorite subject would have to be U.S. History, and my favorite teacher is either Coach E or Coach Ketch.
VYPE: Is there a current or former teammate who left an impression on you?
BR: I’d have to say Tone because he always had me hype before playing games and it followed through to this year.
VYPE: How do you like to spend your free time?
BR: I like to hang w my friends or play the game.
VYPE: What would you like to do after you graduate?
BR: Hopefully continue playing football at a higher level.
