Tecumseh’s Gabby Hill
It takes sore muscles, hours of practice and a lot of running to make a great cheer team but Gabrielle Hill, best known as Gabby, wouldn’t change a thing. She started cheering in the first grade and has been a flyer throughout her cheer career. “You only live once so have fun!” she exclaims.
Gabby is a Tecumseh High School senior. She says cheerleading taught her leadership and gave her a passion for cheering for others. THS cheerleaders support every sport and give shoutouts to students for their achievements throughout the school.
Gabby stays busy participating in all the cheer activities. “We cheer for football, basketball, wrestling, pep assemblies, Game Day Competition and this year for the first time ever we are participating in stunt games,” she said.
Having 20-plus girls get along drama-free is a challenge but the THS cheer team bonds are strong. Gabby says the friendships she has formed are the best part of being on a team. They are her inspiration she says. “My teammates stand by my side and push me to be my best every day.”
Gabby is thankful to her parents, grandparents and coaches who have been by her side every step of the way. She is particularly thankful to her sister who she credits as the teammate who leaves the biggest impression on her. “My sister, Cheyenne showed me how to be my best self on the sidelines and taught me everything I know.”
The best vacation Gabby has taken was to Virginia in 2023. “We have family there, so it is always fun! But this time it was my parents, my sister and my soon-to-be brother-in-law. The whole trip was just fun spending all the time on the beach and going to Busch Gardens.” Aside from cheer, Gabby enjoys the outdoors and has a love for horses. She enjoys riding and just being with her horses. Her future plans include her love for animals as she wants to be a veterinarian.
