Tuttle’s Allie Rehl – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Dennis Meyer Insurance Agency

By: Hunter Ferguson

Tuttle athlete Allie Rehl spoke to VYPE about her life in a recent interview.
VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?
My goals this year is to improve all aspects of my game including getting stronger to prepare me for the next level. (At OBU)

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
Oh there are so many, of course winning state my freshman year, but probably my sophomore year we went to the Arkansas tournament of champions and we didn’t have a speaker on the bus so we all started singing and coach Lester and coach Collin’s would just laugh at us.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
All of the players I have played with at Tuttle have been so special to me, that is why we are a good program, the relationships we build last. But for me that would probably be Madi Surber. Madi Surber runs track at OSU and is a stud. Playing basketball with her for two years was the best, we played so well together and she always pushed me to be better. Today Madi and I are still best friends.

VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?
My favorite part of being a part of this team is our family aspect. Many teams will say that “family” all the time but at Tuttle we really mean it. My girls are always there for me whenever I need something on and off the court. We pray for each other and always encourage each other. We always wear family on our warm up tops and I hope that is something that stays in the program forever!

VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?
I am a part of the national honors society and I also enjoy attending FCA! As a basketball team at Tuttle each month we like to give back to our community whether it be going to the foot bank or helping a family get some Christmas presents!

VYPE: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?
National honors society and FCA

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
Basketball has taught me so many lessons in life but the main one is probably that hard work can take you far in life. Without God and my strive to always do my best I would not be the player or person I am today!

VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?
The best advice I have gotten would be from my dad. He has always told me to never settle and always work to be better than your best. Work the hardest out of everyone because there is always someone out there that is working too.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?
My parents and siblings have inspired me to be the best player I can be. All three of my siblings have played college basketball and, from a young age, they have inspired me to go get my goals no matter how crazy they may be.

VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.
I would like to thank my family and teammates who have always been by my side no matter what. They are my biggest supporters. I would also like to thank all the coaches who have helped me along the way. The coaches who believed in me the most, thank you for pushing me, and trusting me! I sure do love basketball!
