BOWLEGS BISON
Coach: STEVE CORN
3-8
Bowlegs begins a new era under first-year head coach Steve Corn, who brings a new system to a program that has finished fourth in the district each of the past two seasons and gained valuable playoff experience. Corn has coached against this group for several years and believes a strong junior class, combined with a talented underclassmen group, gives the Bison the pieces to compete for a district championship right away in year one.
On offense, Bowlegs will operate from a gun pistol look but stay multiple, aiming for a balanced attack that can stress defenses through the air and on the ground. Junior quarterback Tylar Lee (6-1, 170) returns after throwing for 304 yards and six touchdowns while rushing for 426 yards and seven scores, giving the Bison a dual-threat leader under center. Junior running back Cylas Mack (5-11, 185) is back after averaging 4.8 yards per carry with four touchdowns, and he will run behind a big, developing line that includes junior lineman Coltan Beaver (5-10, 260), junior tight end Keaton Treat (6-0, 210) and massive senior tackle Darius Morrison (6-7, 325), while freshman receiver George Harjo (5-9, 150) looks to make an immediate impact.
Defensively, Bowlegs will base out of a 3-2 scheme that “bends but doesn’t break,” with an emphasis on forcing opponents to drive the field and limiting explosive plays. Mack returns at defensive end after posting 36 tackles, two sacks and an interception, while junior corner Hunter Hamilton (5-6, 160) is back after a 2025 season that included three interceptions and 26 tackles. The front seven will be bolstered by young, physical pieces such as freshman defensive end Leo Morris (6-0, 225), senior linebacker Kingston Burgess (6-2, 220), freshman defensive end Rylan Yerby (6-1, 220) and sophomore defensive tackle Hunter Smith (6-3, 280), giving Corn multiple options as this unit grows into its identity.
