MAUD TIGERS

Coach: TIM COLLINS

8-4

Maud High School enters the 2026 season coming off an 8-4 campaign and a playoff appearance, but head coach Tim Collins knows his team must retool after losing several dynamic playmakers. He says that “with the loss of dynamic players, Maud hopes to finish in the top 4 and make it to the playoffs,” setting a realistic but competitive standard for this year’s group. The Tigers return key pieces in the backfield and at linebacker but will be searching for new answers at receiver and in the secondary. With a schedule that features a mix of non-district and district challenges, Maud’s goal is to find its identity early and be playing its best football when the postseason race heats up.

Offensively, Collins plans to lean heavily on the ground game, explaining that “with the loss of our 3 leading receivers from a season ago, we will have to commit to the run game.” Junior running back Juliouz Brown (6-1, 195) returns after rushing for 650 yards and brings a physical, downhill style that fits the new identity. Junior quarterback Trent Marshall (6-3, 205) is back after throwing for 1,200 yards, and his size and arm strength give Maud the ability to keep defenses honest even as the offense shifts toward a run-first mentality. With four offensive starters returning and an emphasis on controlling the tempo, the Tigers will look to ride Brown and a developing offensive line while selectively taking shots in the passing game when defenses overcommit to the box.

Defensively, Maud will line up in a 3-3 stack and play aggressively. The staff notes that “The Tigers will blitz often to give their DBs a chance to keep teams from throwing for big plays,” a philosophy that prioritizes pressure and disruption over sitting back. Brown doubles as a standout linebacker, where he posted 67 tackles last season, and his combination of physicality and instincts makes him a natural centerpiece for the defense. With four defensive starters returning, Maud will look to use that 3-3 structure to bring pressure from multiple levels and force quarterbacks into quick decisions. The staff believes that if the Tigers can develop depth in the secondary and maintain discipline behind their blitz packages, this defense can help them reach their goal of finishing in the top four and returning to the postseason.
