Yukon’s Jaxon Kennedy

VYPE: Jaxon, what weight do you wrestle and what’s the toughest thing about that weight?

Jaxon Kennedy: I just made the cut to 120 and I think the hardest part about this weight is the quickness of my opponents.

VYPE: What’s the strength of your game and what are you working on to improve? 

JK: The biggest strength of my game is my ability to find pinning combinations and I’m working on my baseline defense.

VYPE: What do you love most about your team and teammates at Yukon?

JK: I love that all of us have each other’s backs and are always willing to help each other achieve our goals.

VYPE: Who inspires you?

JK: My dad inspires me every day when it comes to wrestling, school, and life. He’s a great man who has sacrificed a lot to give me the life and I have and I’m very thankful that I have a great role model like him in my life.

VYPE: What other clubs or groups do you belong to at school?

JK: I am senior class president, athletic leadership council president, student council executive board member, and leader of the spirit committee for athletics.

VYPE: Which teammate is the most vocal and which teammate keeps everyone laughing?

JK: The most vocal teammate would be Destry Lujan, and I think that Rooney Lafever and I keep the team laughing.

VYPE: Favorite subject in school and favorite teacher from any grade?

JK: My favorite school subject is math and my favorite teacher from any grade is my kindergarten teacher Mrs. Iasiello because she still supports me to this day.

VYPE: Favorite moment from any season?

JK: My favorite moment was going to Reno Nevada with my team this year

VYPE: What has athletics taught you that you will use later in life?

JK: Athletics had taught me that if you want something to improve that you have to put work in for it happen.
