COMMUNITY CHRISTIAN SCHOOL LADY ROYALS
Coach: SHAWN SEYMOUR
2024-25 Record: 28-3
OUTLOOK
After 12 seasons with CCS, coach Shawn Seymour enters his first season as head coach of the Lady Royals.
“With one returning starter from last year’s 3A state semifinal team, we will be young and inexperienced. But the talent, especially in the freshman and sophomore class, is a lot to build on. Being in 4A this season will present some different challenges, but we are looking to continue the rich history of basketball success at CCS,” coach Seymour said.
Ava Bell (Sr.) will lead the way from her center position. An outstanding volleyball player, Bell will give the Lady Royals a presence in the paint and someone who doesn’t shy from physical play. Fellow senior Harper Hartsock is a guard who can shoot and play excellent defense. Her development and senior leadership will be big for the team.
Several underclassmen are poised for big years as coach Seymour looks for players ready to step up into big roles on the team. Landri Tompkins (So.) is one name that comes up in conversation as a player who can help this team win now. Tompkins plays with passion and is a quick study at guard. Also look for Payton Janaway (So.), another sophomore who could see time at forward this season thanks to her defense and ability to help on the boards.
Other players to watch include Tatum Smith (Sr.), Halle Johnson (So.), Brooklyn Bailey (So.), Makenlie Riley (So.), and Aleah Couser (Fr.).
