When Dibble takes the field this season, they will have a new look to go with a new quarterback. Sophomore QB Louden Gregory transferred from Little Axe and is now the expected starter this season. The move comes after spring ball, but Gregory said summer pride workouts have gone well.
“I didn’t participate in spring ball with Dibble, but summer workouts have been going amazing thus far. I am playing quarterback and am continuing to work out on speed and balance. I think our team will be solid. We had a couple departures from the team, but still have most of our solid pieces,” Gregory said.
Last season as a freshman at Little Axe, Gregory threw for 2,161 yards and 21 touchdowns. His message to his new teammates is simple, play with confidence and believe in coach Norman.
“I think a message to my teammates would be to have confidence, to be confident in what Coach Norman is putting together and trust what he has planned. I think it will take work to get what our goals are this year,” said Gregory. “Obviously, our goal is to be holding a gold ball in December, but we have to put the work in to get there. My number one goal aside from football has been trying to become a better man for the Lord I do everything in his name so if I’m not the best version of myself for him then I feel like I’m letting him down.”
Gregory will have a familiar target in the lineup.
“An underclassman to watch this year would be Shaffer Gregory. His vertical is insane, and I can’t name a person with better route running and potential than then the kid,” Gregory said.
As for leaving an impression on the Dibble faithful, Gregory said he is focused on the task at hand and doing his best to represent Demon football.
“I want to be remembered as the best quarterback to ever put on a Demon uniform. I want to be remembered here,” Gregory said.
And once those playing days come to an end, Gregory wants to take his talents to the next level, which sport is still a question mark.
“After I graduate, I would like to play college sports whether that’s golf, or football. If that doesn’t work out, I would love to attend college and work towards becoming a criminal analyst,” said Gregory.
