El Reno’s Conley Knapp
El Reno High School senior and varsity soccer player Conley Knapp is ready for her final season as a prep student-athlete before heading to the east side of the state for college.
“I’m committed to playing soccer at Rogers State University while working to get a degree in business marketing. I’ll hopefully open a flower shop after I graduate from there,” said Knapp.
For the senior, competing at a high-level is great, but Knapp loves her teammates and the memories they have made together.
“All of my teammates have left an impression on me, it’s hard to pick just one. A former teammate that I’ll always want more time playing with is Joey Lierle. Joey always had everyone’s back no matter the circumstance. She’s just someone you couldn’t help but appreciate on and off the field,” Knapp said. “I couldn’t possibly choose a singular memory; I’ve tried to cherish every moment I’ve been given because it’s all almost over. All of my memories are my favorite.”

Playing a holding-mid position for El Reno, Knapp has continued to work on her game entering the new season.

“My strength lies in my ability to see the field well. I can anticipate a play before it happens, which I think is most of the reason I succeed throughout each game. I’ve had to work on my quickness of play. Soccer is constantly changing and the speed of play changes with it, it’s something I struggled with for a while but I’m getting there,” said Knapp.
A tough schedule equals some tough games ahead for El Reno.“ The toughest team we’ve played against is Bishop McGuinness,” Knapp said. “We’ve had a lot of success against many teams, but I think real success is found in the challenging games that people don’t expect you to put up a fight in.”
