Minco’s Aden Brummell

Sacrifice of self is a value senior Aden Brummell said he has learned through playing both basketball and football at Minco.
“The team’s needs are more important than my own,” Brummell said.
His most memorable high school sports moment that he likes to look back on was just last year.
“It was coming back from being down by 20 (points) against Crescent, my junior year in basketball,” Brummell said.
He says that many people have given him great advice over the years, that he can’t choose one that stands out. But plenty of friendships made have provided solid emotional support, which enabled him in his success.
“I think all the seniors from my freshman year had a huge impact on me,” Brummell said. “My brother inspires me a lot. He has accomplished a lot in sports and is always teaching me on and off the court.”
In the classroom, Brummell said he has his favorites, although he enjoys all of his classes.
“Mrs. Schroeder, who has been my English teacher for multiple years, has always made class fun and taught me how to get out of my comfort zone,” Brummell said.
Outside of sports, Brummell is also involved with FCA at his school and likes to hunt, fish, and work with his dad.
When it comes to having a favorite NCAA basketball team, “I am an OSU fan, so I would have to say them, but I do watch a lot of others,” Brummell said. “I really do not have a favorite NBA team,” he added. “I don’t really have a favorite player either.”
What motivates Brummell about having the privilege of putting on the navy blue and white uniform when Minco takes court is, “Having a whole town behind you that supports you,” he said. Playing with teammates like Landon McMahon and others is something special for Brummell.
“He is by far one of the best athletes I have played with and is so annoying to play against, but great to have on your team,” Brummell said.
