North Rock Creek’s Sophie Morris
In her final year of high school, North Rock Creek’s Sophie Morris is looking forward to making her senior year one to remember.
It started on the softball field. The shortstop/third baseman started playing the sport at a young age and is now rolling through her season with a group of players she enjoys being around.
“I first started playing softball at six years old. I wanted to be like my sister who was also playing softball at the time,” Morris said. “I love how encouraging we are of each other. They add a sense of support which makes playing this sport so much more enjoyable.”
This may not be the last time you see Morris on the field. Her future plans include college and possibly continuing in the sport she loves.
“I want this season to be about personal growth. I obviously want to win like every other team but I also what to aim to improve my abilities and support my teammates regardless of winning or losing,” Morris said. “I would like to play softball in college and work towards becoming an athletic trainer.”
Morris said her mother is a source of inspiration and someone she admires.
“My mom inspires me. Her ability to balance so many responsibilities while still keeping a positive attitude towards everyone is something I really admire and would like to learn from,” said Morris.
A member of National Honor Society and Business Professionals of America, Morris said her favorite subject is English and her favorite teacher is Mrs. Smith.
Away from the field and school, Morris said she enjoys spending time with those who are important in her life.
“ I enjoy hanging out with friends and eating at restaurants with my parents,” said Morris.
