Before she begins reflecting on what’s been a great four years of high school, Shawnee’s Addison Williams is focused on making this a season to remember.
A varsity soccer player for Shawnee High School, Williams will play defense/midfielder for the Wolves again this season and is more prepared for her final year of prep soccer than ever before.
“I would say my strength is my defense and I’ve improved on my mental block and have become more confident in my skills as a player,” said Williams.
Like many of her teammates, Williams started playing the sport in elementary school. Her teammates are more like family.
“The atmosphere on and off the field with my team is what I love most,” Williams said. “We’re like a family I can go to them for most things.”
“ ”Several players have left an impression on Williams during her time at SHS and several new players are stepping up and being notice by the senior.
“I would say I’ve been impressed over all by our freshmen. Most try their best during practice to become better on a daily,” Williams said. “Anna Parrilla and Talynn Speckman are dynamic on and off the field making jokes and having fun during practice and getting serious when it matters.”
To focus, Williams said she likes to listen to music and get herself in the proper mindset before a match. Staying focused is something she learned from her source of inspiration on and off the field. “My parents are my biggest fan on and off the field pushing me in my faith in God and my passions
After graduation, Williams plans to attend college and pursue a degree.
“I plan to get a bachelor’s degree in pre-veterinary medicine/animal sciences and then go to Oklahoma State Vet school to get a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and maybe open my own practice,” said Williams.
