SNU’s Whitley Pyle
Growing up at school is something every student can claim, but for Whitley Pyle, growing up at school has a different meaning thanks to two parents who spent their careers as educators. It was a natural progression for Pyle to pursue her Master of Arts in Educational Leadership degree.
“Seeing the impact they have made throughout the years inspired me to want to do the same. They did not go through the program at the same time, but both attended MAEL programs through SNU and encouraged me to do the same when the opportunity arose last year,” Pyle said. “I received an email that SNU was creating a satellite location in Wynnewood. Signing up for the program and obtaining my degree in educational leadership will allow me to become a broader influence on my students, fellow teachers, and my community. I enjoy the impact I can make now, but I am looking forward to the greater impact I will have shortly, as I will be completing my classes next August. I am forever grateful that God called me into the field of education.”

With the MAEL degree from SNU, Pyle said more opportunities will become available to her as her career moves forward.
“It opens up opportunities for other professions. With this degree, I can stay in the classroom as a more knowledgeable teacher, or I can become a principal, superintendent, or curriculum director,” said Pyle.
“ ”Currently, Pyle is teaching Algebra I and Math of Finance at Sulphur High School.
“I have previously taught honors geometry and college and career readiness classes. I have always had a passion for math, so I love teaching these classes,” said Pyle.
Pyle said anyone interested in attending SNU should give it a try.
Go for it! SNU makes flexible schedules. I can still offer my full attention at work and not feel overwhelmed with assignments and requirements for class. You will learn useful information and it is worth the time. My sister and I got the wild hair to take our principal’s test after only three classes because we felt as if we had already learned so much. We both passed our first time due to the insight our professors offered us in such a short time. The professors are great, and along with the mandatory material presented for each class, we get to hear about their personal stories.
