VYPE: Bryanna, what grade are you in this year and when did you start competing in cross country?
Bryanna Madden: I am a sophomore and I started running cross country in 7th grade.
VYPE: What do you love most about this team and your teammates?
BM: What I love most about my teammates is that we all know the effort that needs to be put in, so we know how each other feels on a hard workout and how to support each other. the best part of having teammates like that is you never have to go through any tough workouts alone.
VYPE: How has the season gone for you so far?
BM: Though it is only the beginning of the season, I’ve managed to run a PR of a minute and 43 seconds at our home meet which was a 20:47 so I’d say the season is going well.
VYPE: How do you prepare yourself mentally to go out and compete?
BM: Usually, the night and drive before my race I try to visualize the race in my head if I know their course but if I don’t know the course, I just try to think about how I feel during the different miles.
VYPE: Do you have a favorite subject and teacher?
BM: My favorite subject right now is chemistry, and it is taught my Mrs. Simmons.
VYPE: What other activities are you involved with at school?
BM: Currently there aren’t many activities going on regarding clubs, but I plan to join the same clubs I did last year: HOPE club, class council, multicultural club, and Asian American club.
VYPE: How do you enjoy spending your free time?
BM: Most of my free time I spend hanging out with my family or friends or just staying at home with my dog and resting since school and running gets tiring.
VYPE: What are your plans after you graduate?
BM: I am planning to go to medical school after I graduate. I don’t know for sure if I would run for college, but I still want to keep running with my friends outside of school.
VYPE: Who has made a significant impact in your life?
BM: My whole family has a significant impact on my life because they always show up to my events and are there for me whether I need it or not.
