As head coach Robert Washington prepares the team for the upcoming wrestling season, he faces the challenge of taking a mix of experienced wrestlers and a group of young, but hungry wrestlers and turning them into a team that can compete in duals and work towards sending members of the team to state.
“We will have a mixture of seasoned seniors mixed with talented younger class. We have one state placer in Chase Graham,” said coach Washington.
Chase Graham was runner-up last season and is expected to do well this year. Graham brings a lot of experience to the mat for Moore. Another wrestler with excellent experience is Axton Wright, a senior and three-year starter for Moore, Wright has worked hard to make his final year of prep wrestling his best.
Also look for guys like Aiden Cox and newcomer Elijah Davis. Davis is only a freshman, but coach Washington feels he may be good enough to break into the lineup this year.
