The goal at CAHS is making the state tournament. That has always been the goal for the Lady Titans and head coach Kyle Richey. The Lady Titans are becoming a mainstay at the state tournament, but to get there it takes hard work and dedication, something coach Richey believes his team brings to the court.

“The Lady Titans will be a young team this year trying to get back to the state tournament for a 5th straight year in a row. We will mesh two returning starters with two seniors who have seen quality minutes off the bench with under classman who have a strong IQ for the game,” said coach Richey.

Audrey Plunkett (Jr.) is a returning starter for the Lady Titans. She helped the team to a varsity record of 22-6 and a state tournament bid in 2023, as well as Southern Invitational Tournament Champion, Bertha Teague Classic Tournament Champion and Titan Classic Tournament Runner-Up. Her individual awards are stacking up as well. Jakary Brown (Jr.) returns in her starting role alongside Plunkett this season. Brown is quick, relentless on the boards and a player who thrives on being a menace on defense. Like Plunkett, Brown has stacked up the honors, but is focused on helping her team win a state title.

Two underclassmen to watch are Jordyn Richardson (Fr.) and Meliah Hatchett (So.). Richardson appears to have adjusted to playing with the upperclassmen and has learned to be a complete player on both ends of the floor. Hatchett played some valuable minutes last season and brings a high basketball IQ to the game. A position-less player, Hatchett can play 1-5 for coach Richey.

Other players to watch include Evi Mitchell (Sr.), Jacque Brown (Sr.) and Hadyn Harrell. Mitchell has battled through some injuries and is now ready work her way into the lineup, while Brown is the ultimate team player and someone coach Richey is thrilled to have on the roster. Harrell brings heart to the team and will be a key figure in helping this group reach their goals.
