2024-2025 Noble Bears Cheer – Presented by Landers Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Norman

It’s been a great cheer season for the members of the Noble varsity cheer squad and head coach Brooklyn Wong and assistant coach Donelle Davis.

Coach Wong said this group has been a joy to coach and their desire to continue to improve was a driving force behind their success this season.

“As a coach, I’ve enjoyed this team’s desire to learn new skills. Each athlete is willing to put so much time and effort into taking this program to the next level. They’re constantly asking to try new stunts and tumbling passes. They find videos of skills they want to try,” Wong said. “We’ve had multiple optional tumbling practices at a cheer gym, where over half the team drove across town to attend! It excites me to build on their hunger to try new things. I’ve enjoyed working with this team and strengthening our program.”

The team featured three seniors this season and coach Wong said their leadership helped the team reach the state competition.

“We have three seniors this year: second-year Macy BarronBeall, third-year Kerstin Soell, and third-year Peyton Lay. Our captains are Lyla Rogers, Joe Schat, and Audrey Maguire,” Wong said. “This year, Noble cheer made it to the OSSAA Competitive Cheer State competition. Last year, the squad did not move on past regionals, so it was a huge accomplishment to move on to state. This team placed in the top 5 in the Large Coed division for only our second year ever participating in this competition.”

Now that competition season is over and football season has ended, the cheer team is turning their focus to the gym and off-season workouts.

“After a great competition and football season, the squad will now cheer at basketball games and wrestling matches! Our practices will transition into an off-season structure where we’ll try lots of new skills, condition, and do team-building activities,” Wong said. “The hope and goal for this program moving forward is to continue raising student leaders. To tap into the potential of these athletes and build on the progress made from years prior. I hope Noble cheer proceeds to raise the bar, improve results at OSSAA competitions, and continues to be successful on the sidelines!”
