9 Questions with Purcell’s Tripp Eck – Golf spotlight – Presented by Gregory’s Sporting Goods

Purcell’s Tripp Eck

VYPE: Tripp, what grade are you in this year at Purcell High School?

Tripp Eck: I’m a sophomore.

VYPE: What do you love about your team and teammates at PHS?

TE: We have a fairly young team and have fun together.  We try to push and motivate each other and build each other up every day.

VYPE: What is the strength of your game and what are you looking to improve?

TE: My strength lately has been putting but working on consistently hitting straight. Golf is tough, constantly working on all areas.

VYPE: What makes representing Purcell special for you?

TE: I will be the third generation to graduate from Purcell. My family and I love and support our small town.

VYPE: Who inspires you?

TE: My biggest inspirations are my family and God.  My family supports and encourages me each day and my faith give me the strength and confidence both on and off the course.

VYPE: What’s the biggest challenge for a competitive golfer?

TE: Playing new courses, you have never played and trying to stay consistent through the round.

VYPE: Is there a current or former teammate who left an impression on you?

TE: Josh McWhiter graduated last year and was a senior that helped me as a freshman to develop as a player and always encouraged me.

VYPE: What is your favorite club to hit and what would you like to do after you graduate?

TE: My 8-iron. I hit the best, most consistent, and best at that distance. I would like to go to college and play golf.

VYPE: Where is your favorite place to play?

TE: My home course in Purcell, but Sedona Golf Resort and Lahinch in Ireland were the nicest ones I have ever played.
