OUTLOOK

Entering the 2024-25 season the Lady Bears under the leadership of head coach Lindsey Vanderburg, are poised for a great season on the court.

“A large number of returning players, including a strong core group, and evenly distributed talent across the entire team. Last year, three seniors, one of whom started, graduated. We have a good group of sophomores who are expected to step up and fill scoring and defensive roles. We will focus on playing with speed and have some size inside with senior Hayden George, along with strong guard play from junior Callie Abernathy and senior Raylee Steely,” said coach Vanderburg.

Callie Abernathy (5-6, Jr.) averaged 12 points, 5.0 assists and 2.0 steals last season. Abernathy is an athletic guard with excellent court vision and can score inside or out. Also a soccer and track athlete, Abernathy is a dependable guard who can elevate the performance of her teammates. Raylee Steely (5-5, Sr.) is cut from the same cloth. Steely averaged 12 points, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals last season. Steely is a four-year starter who handles the rock well and finishes around the hoop. Consistent improvements in her three-ball and defense makes her a great player for Noble.

Hayden George (5-11, Sr.) and Caysn Cottrell (5-11, Jr.) are two post players averaging 8.0 points and 5.0 points respectively. Both battle on the boards and can make a difference on both ends of the court. Also look for Addi Colwell (6-0, So.) in the post as well. The trio make for a tough matchup in the paint.

Other players to watch include Carli Wilson (5-7, So.), Kynlee McDonald (5-7, So.), Kenzie Davis (5-7, So.), Destinee Espinoza (5-6, Jr.), and Kiki Martinez (5-5, Jr.). Wilson is a speedy guard who is tough to stop in the transition game, while Espinoza is a vocal leader for the Lady Bears.
