VYPE: How long have you been playing tennis?

Makenzie Woods: Three years this year.

VYPE: What made you want to join the tennis team this year?

MW: One of my friends was doing it so I joined because of them.

VYPE: What’s your favorite part about playing tennis?

MW: I like it. And I like playing with my friends too.

VYPE: Do you have a favorite shot or part of your game?

MW: Not really one specific shot—I just like playing overall.

VYPE: Who inspires you in the world of tennis, if anyone?

MW: My coaches.

VYPE: How has your experience on the team been so far?

MW: It’s been good. I like everybody—everyone’s really nice in the team.

VYPE: How do you balance school and tennis?

MW: Just making sure I turn in my work. My teachers are pretty nice about it.

VYPE: What’s one goal you have for yourself this season?

MW: To make it to state.

VYPE: What advice would you give to someone thinking about joining the tennis team next year?

MW: It’s really fun. Everyone’s nice.


VYPE: What are you most looking forward to in your high school tennis career?

MW: Getting better at what I do.
