OFFENSE
When the Lions take the field to kick off the 2025 season, it will be under the leadership of head coach Cameron Bennett. In his first season leading the Lions, Bennett has developed a solid coaching staff that includes Brad Robertson, Jeremy Stark, Michael Clark, Chas Stover, Brandon Morris, Darryl Wilkins, Glenn Perrett, Maquire Perrett, Trent Pratt, Chadrick Jackson, Clay Pearcy, Aaron Roberson, Jason Paul, and Mike Swart. Only three starters are back on offense this season, which means the coaching staff is making some tough decisions on starters. Maverick Gardner (6-1, 165, Sr.) will see time at quarterback and wide receiver. His athleticism is crucial for the Lions and will help them move the chains. Running back Ozias Adams (5-9, 180, Jr.) is another player looking to get in the stat book this season. As will wide receiver Landis Greene (5-9, 155, Jr.) who is a speed guy with good hands. The offensive line features Brady Prestridge (6-2, 255, Jr.), a physical player who can move the line of scrimmage and reach those second level blocks.
DEFENSE
Like the offense, the defense only returns three starters from last season. Braylen Herron (6-0, 255, Jr.) gets things started up front for the Lions with his play at the tackle spot. Herron is tough to stop when he wants in the offensive backfield. His play will open things up for Tucker Stull (6-1, 175, Jr.) at linebacker. Stull is quick on his feet and fights off would-be blockers with finesse and power. The secondary features Robert Nixon Jr. (6-1, 170, Jr.). Nixon can spot the ball well and defend the deep shots teams will take against the secondary. Questions at linebacker and safety are being addressed in 7-on-7 and team camps. Looks for a few younger players to be called on this season as the coaching staff looks to lay a foundation for future seasons. Overall, the team is hungry to prove they can compete with the rest of the class.
