OUTLOOK

The Luther Lady Lions enter the new season with a renewed sense of identity and purpose as the program begins to build a strong foundation around effort accountability and a competitive spirit that has grown throughout the offseason. Head coach Julia Mason sees a group that has embraced the process and worked to establish a culture built on unity and daily improvement.

“A new coaching staff brings fresh perspective and direction, emphasizing fundamentals, teamwork, and a competitive mindset. While this season will be a learning and growing experience, the program’s upside is undeniable. The Lady Lions are determined to take positive steps forward and establish a culture of accountability, effort, and pride in representing Luther High School,” coach Mason said.

The roster blends upperclass leadership with young talent that has the potential to develop into a major strength for the Lady Lions. Senior guard Anna Tytenicz (5-7) sets the tone with her maturity toughness and steady presence on both ends of the floor. Junior Blakley Bounds (5-9) steps into a starring role as a versatile guard with the skill to initiate offense create mismatches and score from multiple spots.

Freshman point guard Tinsley Wiley (5-6) brings one of the most exciting skill sets on the roster. She plays with composure beyond her age handles defensive pressure with confidence and shows a natural ability to see the floor. Also look for guards Paeton Heron (5-7, Jr.) and Zoe Vega (5-2, So.). Both could have breakout seasons.

Other players to watch include Zoey Raines (5-7, Fr.), Brooke Wilkins (5-6, Jr.), Peyton Wilkins (5-4, Jr.), Allison Wilds (5-7, So.), Marlee McNair (5-8, Fr.), Makayla Richardson (5-9, So.), Dilynn Barnett (5-4, Fr.), and Hailey Mayen (5-3, So.).

Luther will rely on effort and defensive commitment to compete with stronger and more experienced programs. The Lady Lions expect to improve steadily as the season unfolds and with Bounds stepping into a featured role and Wiley developing at point guard the team could take meaningful strides toward long term stability and success.
