Coach: KALE SIMON
2024-25 Record: 30-1
OUTLOOK
After winning the Class 3A state title last season, the Lady Warriors and head coach Kale Simon return three starters including Kelby Beller and Preslee Johnson, who have been three-year starters on three state final teams.
“Washington also returns Jayden Wells who started as a sophomore before being injured after her sophomore campaign. Jayden contributed strong minutes as a Jr and is back to full strength as a senior. A strong bench with seniors Laney Parnacher and Laney Gay round out the senior experience in the rotation. Junior Aubri Clary and sophomores Eternity Self and Harper Johnson were a part of last year’s rotation and are expected to add to that contribution this year. Washington also has a dynamic freshman class that is expected to contribute immediately,” coach Simon said.
Beller will play point guard where her skills with the ball and her decision-making help elevate the play on the court.
“She contributes to every area on and off the stat sheet that makes the Warriors go,” coach Simon said.
Johnson is a big-time, big-game shooter who does not rattle under pressure.
“Johnson is a sharpshooting marksman that compliments Kelby’s [Beller] playmaking abilities. Preslee hit 15 three pointers in the state tournament in Washingtons convincing State Championship run. The 6-foot Johnson can also put the ball on the deck when defenders close out too tight,” coach Simon said.
Gay continues to be a player who can contribute to the overall success of the team in many ways. Her work ethic is infectious
“Laney has led the team in charges multiple games/seasons. Her hard-nosed minutes are a value to the Warriors,” coach Simon said.
