OUTLOOK
The Crusaders will have a new look this season after graduating all of their starters from last season. Head coach Jontue Ezell believes in his players and his coaching staff.
“With no returning starters from last year, this season promises to be an exciting one for both our team and coaching staff. We’re a young group, but we’re bringing plenty of athleticism and length to the floor. If we continue to build chemistry and stay healthy, the potential is sky-high,” coach Ezell said.
The roster does features outstanding players like Swift Moore (6-5, Jr.), a forward who anchors the defense and is a true leader on the court. Moore is a serious problem for opponents once he gets in the paint. He can score or dish to the open shooter.
Devon Cruz (5-11, So.) is a guard that elevates everyone around him. Cruz made a big impact as a freshman thanks to his court vision and consistent play. Unselfish with the ball, Cruz keeps the offense flowing. Tyler Reed (5-7, Sr.) joins Cruz in the backcourt giving the Crusaders another shooter. Also look for Sam Sherrer (5-10, Jr.) and Leighton Wells (5-10, Jr.). Sherrer is a program guy who leads by example.
Other players to watch include Adren Border (5-9, Jr.), Charlie Dinwiddle (6-4, So.), Zac Warren (6-4, So.), Jonathan Hill (6-5, So.), Titus Sweet (5-9, So.), Sterling Moore (6-6, Fr.), Meeko BoBo (5-10, Fr.), and Tyson Tircuit (5-11, Fr.).
