Christian Heritage’s Brityn Waller – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Danielle Hill – Shelter Insurance

Brityn Waller has become a standout presence on the Christian Heritage tennis court, bringing a vocal, competitive spirit to the No. 1 singles position while maintaining a balanced approach to athletics, academics and faith.

Playing for the Crusaders since her freshman year, Waller has experienced significant team success. “My favorite moment from any season is winning a team championship my freshman year,” she said. “Going into the state tournament we were ranked to place 8th as a team, but we all competed with faith and determination in every match and won a team championship.”

Waller attributes much of her drive to her father, who has coached her since childhood. “Who inspires me most is my dad,” she said. “He is my number one supporter in tennis and through life. He’s been my coach since a young age, and he continues to point me in the right direction as I become a young adult.”

The tennis player’s aggressive style defines her game. “Strengths in my game is that I’m a very aggressive player,” she said. “I love to hit hard and make it hard for my opponent to get my shot back. Something I’ve been working on is being a lot more consistent and not missing easy shots.”

Beyond the court, Waller is deeply involved in school life. She has participated in the Leaders in Training club since her freshman year and coaches younger tennis players in her free time.

What drives Waller most is the team environment. “What I love most about our team is our support towards each other, our love to compete, and how all players strive to serve God on and off the court,” she said.

As she looks toward her future, Waller recognizes the lessons athletics has provided. “Something that athletics has taught me is to never give up and to always work harder to succeed,” she said.
