Southmoore’s Karissa Reddout
VYPE: Karissa, what position do you play in softball and what’s the most difficult thing about mastering that position?
Karissa Reddout: The position I play is pitcher, and the most difficult thing about that position is always staying positive up on the mound. I’ve learned over the years that pitching isn’t just physical, it’s mental as well.

VYPE: What do you love most about this team and your teammates?
KR: What I love most about my teammates at Southmoore is how they make me feel at home every time I am around them.
VYPE: Who inspires you?
KR: The person that inspires me the most is my father. He had achieved a lot when he played ball, and I wanted to keep the achievements going just like he did.

KR: My favorite moment in any season was my sophomore year fastpitch 2023 when I hit the walk off in the state championship against Edmond Memorial.

KR: My favorite subject in school is science. And my favorite teacher so far has been Ms. Morris who was my math teacher in my junior year.
VYPE: What have you learned in athletics that you can use throughout your life?
KR: Something that softball has taught me that I will use later in life is that you have to work constantly to get where you want to be. Also take criticism as a way to get better, not to bring yourself down.
VYPE: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
KR: In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my family, going to work, and going to the gym.
