LUTHER LIONS

Coach: LEVI LUNSFORD

4-6

OFFENSE

Luther is ready to tackle the new season with a dynamic and eager squad under the fresh leadership of head coach Levi Lunsford. “This is a team that will be exciting to watch and has a lot to prove this season, with a new district that is wide open for anybody to take advantage of,” coach Lunsford said. The Lions’ offense will be spearheaded by senior quarterback Brody Becker (6-2, 190, Sr.). Wide receiver Azayah Skannal (5-10, 165, Sr.) and tight end Aden Henke (5-11, 185, Sr.) will be key targets in the Lions’ spread offense, which aims to run the ball at will and pass when needed. With five returning starters, the Lions’ offense looks to capitalize on a wide-open district. “We want to be able to run the ball at will and pass the ball when we need to,” Lunsford added.

DEFENSE

The Lions’ defense, which operates from a 4-2-5 base, focuses on speed and physicality. “We want to force our opponents to get away from their game plan, because the defense is fast to the ball and physical at the same time,” Lunsford said. Senior linebacker Caleb Williams (5-8, 175, Sr.) will be pivotal in anchoring the defense, supported by senior defensive back Colt McCaslin (5-11, 160, Sr.). The Luther defense will be fast to the ball and physical, creating turnovers, stopping the run game and dominating opponents. With five returning starters, the defense is set to be a cohesive unit this season.
