Little Axe’s Aubrie Davis – Wrestling Spotlight – Presented by Mid America Technology Center

Wrestling is nothing new to Little Axe High School junior Aubrie Davis. Davis started wrestling when she was 12 years old and continues to work to improve on the mat.

“The strength of my skill set is my dedication and desire to do whatever I set my mind to do,” Davis said. “I have improved my shots and being more productive in my matches.”

Her hard work has paid off. As a team, Davis worked to help her team make history and creating one of her favorite memories as a wrestler at any level.

“My favorite memory as a wrestler for little axe was winning the Class 5A state championship with my team,” Davis said. “LAHS is a great place for me as a student-athlete because of the bond I have with my teammates, coaches, teachers, and staff.”

Davis also attends classes at Mis America Tech where she is enrolled in the Veterinary Assistant program. A subject Davis wants to continue pursuing after she graduates.

“The goal for life after high school is to attend college and major in Veterinary Medicine,” said Davis. “I enjoy the relationships you build as well as the experiences you get at Mid America Tech.”

As for the team, Davis feels they are in a good place, and everyone is working hard to get better.

“Ainsley Jennings has left the biggest impression on me because she’s always driven to be better, and she pushed everyone to be their very best. Amelia Earhart keeps everyone laughing and Emily McDaniel is probably the most serious. I love that my teammates are always there for me no matter what,” said Davis.
