Q&A with Moore’s Cadyn Betancourt – Presented by Scott Smith-Shelter Insurance

VYPE: Cadyn, what is your favorite subject in school, and do you have a favorite teacher?

Cadyn Betancourt: My favorite subject has always been English, and my favorite teacher is Coach Hunt.

VYPE: What age did you start playing soccer and what grade are you in now?

CB: I started playing when I was three and now, I am a sophomore.

VYPE: What position do you play?

CB: I play center or defensive mid.

VYPE: What do you love most about your team and teammates?

CB: I love my teammates because there’s a sense of respect for one another and we’re like a family.

VYPE: What is the strength of your game and what have you improved on the most?

CB: The strength of my game is how passionate I am and how much love I have for the sport. Although I have much to improve on, this season I have improved on communicating with my teammates and somewhat getting out of my head.

VYPE: Who inspires you?

CB: I inspire myself the most. I am my biggest critic and I’ll never be satisfied with what I am doing. This honestly pushes me to do better because I want so much more for myself.

VYPE: What makes Moore a great place to be a student-athlete?

CB: It’s great for student-athletes because there’s so many academic opportunities and support services.

VYPE: Tell us your favorite memory on the pitch as a player?

CB: My favorite memory from this season was playing Westmoore because the energy was high, and it was competitive.

VYPE: What are your plans after high school and for the summer? CB: After high school I want to study criminal psychology, and I also want to continue playing soccer in college. During the summer I want to get a job, I definitely want to attend some college I.D camps, and I also want to go to the gym and continue my workouts.
