SaberCat Volleyball off the Quick Start – Presented by RPT Physical Therapy

As the volleyball season rolls into September, the SaberCats are off to a good start.

Head coach Amy Serowski entered the season with several players that bring good experience and a solid work ethic to the court.

“Our 2024 roster is exciting! We have three awesome seniors who lead us, 9 juniors, a sophomore, and a freshman,” Serowski said. “Our juniors and seniors have been playing varsity level since their freshmen or sophomore years. We have been a young team for a couple of years now, so it’ll be exciting to have some experience on the court.”

Players like Mia Johnson is an outside hitter with a powerful arm and lots of energy. Johnson is a leader on the court and someone the team will lean on this season.

Also look for Mira Patel (So.) at the middle blocker spot. Patel has a ton of experience and is run to watch on the court. Taryn Chaffee is the starting Libero, a position she has played for two seasons. Chaffee anchors the defense.

Taylor Astle is a senior captain this year and a defensive specialist. A versatile player, Astle can play nearly every position and is a natural leader on the floor.

Overall, the SaberCats are poised for an excellent season and already have wins over Putnam City, Enid, Ponca City, Stillwater, and Sand Springs.
