El Reno’s Eryn RomanNose
VYPE: What goals do you have for this year in basketball?
Eryn RomanNose: I have a lot of goals. Obviously, No. 1 is to help my team make it to state again. Another goal is to see my confidence grow more on the court and just to get better at everything.
VYPE: What has basketball taught you that you use in your daily life?
ER: That everyone makes mistakes, and you can’t let it affect you. Also that you have to work on something over and over to be good at it, you won’t be successful the first try.
VYPE: What’s your favorite style of shoe to wear in game?
ER: Any type of KDs but specifically KD 4s.
VYPE: Who inspires you and why?
ER: I’m inspired by a lot of people sports wise. I like watching college players who play my spot, but my ultimate inspiration comes from my mom, Stephanie RomanNose. She does everything for me, which is why I get to be successful in school and sports. She works hard to take care of me and my siblings. Always says she’s proud of me no matter what and supports me in everything.
VYPE: What do you think is the biggest challenge in basketball?
ER: Facing adversity. There’s a lot of hard obstacles that you will have to overcome during basketball, and you can’t let it bring you down. You have to persevere through them and control the way you handle it and respond to it.
VYPE: What do you think makes a great basketball player?
ER: Attitude and effort. You don’t have to be the best player on the team but keeping a positive attitude towards your coaches and teammates and also hustling all the time are what make you a great player and teammate.
VYPE: Who in your family is the best athlete? Explain.
ER: The best athlete in my family is my brother, Carter RomanNose. He plays basketball also and well y’all probably heard of him. He played a lot of sports growing up, making him very athletic. He has already passed his 1k points and he fills the stat sheet up every game, which tells you he can do everything on the court.
VYPE: What’s one sport you wish you could play that you don’t already play?
ER: I wish I could do competitive dancing like hip hop, etc. Some people may consider it a sport, others may not. I love watching people dance, watching the different categories and hearing the music and watching the choreography.
VYPE: What’s your go-to pregame song?
ER: I don’t have one, just any song by Kanye West and J. Cole.
