Union City’s Carson Biffle

Carson Biffle has spent his senior year doing what Union City High School athletes are taught to do: show up, work hard and keep growing. The Tigers senior, who plays varsity baseball and golf, has become a steady presence on the diamond at third base and first base while building a reputation for discipline and passion in everything he does.

For Biffle, baseball has shaped far more than his swing.

“Baseball has taught me a bunch of different things, but discipline and passion are definitely the main things that have impacted my life because if you’re not disciplined in life then you are not going to be successful because it takes power and motivation to make great things happen,” Biffle said.

That mindset has helped define some of his best moments in the program. Biffle said his favorite accomplishment came early in his junior season, when he delivered immediate power at the plate.

“My favorite accomplishment was hitting three bombs in the first three games of my junior season,” he said.

Even with those highlights, Biffle points quickly to the people around him. He said his father has been his biggest inspiration, crediting him for constant support and guidance through the years.

“My dad inspires me; he has always been there for me every time I’ve needed help on something and has taught me more than anyone ever can,” Biffle said.

He also credited former teammate Brayden Armstrong for helping shape his work ethic. Biffle said Armstrong was the senior he looked up to as a freshman, someone who would pick him up to hit at the field at night and still remains one of the first people he calls when he wants extra work.

In the classroom, Biffle said Coach Griggs has had the greatest influence, pushing him to reach his potential while also showing understanding.

As he looks back on his high school career, Biffle said gratitude stands out as much as any stat line. He thanked supporters throughout his journey, then saved his deepest appreciation for his mother.

“Thank you to everyone that has supported me throughout my career,” Biffle said. “But the person that I want to say thank you to the most and has been there for everything is my mom. She truly is the greatest person I know.”
