CHOCTAW VOLLEYBALL
Coach: TARYN WINTERS
20-17
OUTLOOK
After posting 20-wins last season, head coach Taryn Winters is looking to build on that foundation and create a culture of success on and off the court.
“This year is all about culture and defining who Choctaw Volleyball will be! We are on a mission to build this program, and this team is full of leadership and consistency,” said coach Winters.
That leadership will come from several of the players on the team including K’shyra Jordan, a junior who made a major impact in her first season as a sophomore. Jordan recorded nearly 500 digs and was the starting libero all season. Jordan brought leadership to a team that was senior heavy.
In her third year of varsity play Emma Davidson enters her senior season with over 100 blocks in her career. A vocal leader at the net, Davidson is the heart of the front row and will lead by example.
Four-year starter Addison McBroom is everything you want in a teammate. Coach Winters said of McBroom, “Her contributions are truly irreplaceable, and she plays a significant role in fostering the positive culture we are committed to building at CVB. Addison deserves recognition for both her character and her valuable contributions to the team.”
Also look for incoming sophomore Anika Wilson at setter/rightside. A true competitor, Wilson is expected to add a lot of value to the Choctaw program this season thanks to the experience she gained as a freshman.
The season will find the Lady Jackets in several tournaments including Bishop McGuinness, Choctaw Varsity Tournament, and the Oklahoma 7 Tournament in early October. Home opponents include Carl Albert, Piedmont, Putnam City North, Moore, Enid and Putnam City.
