OUTLOOK
The Shawnee Lady Wolves open the season focused on finishing what they started after a run to the area finals a year ago. With experience returning and a renewed urgency head coach Wendi Wells leads a group that understands the intensity required to compete deep into the postseason.
“More experienced team this season looking to improve on a loss in the Area finals last season,” coach Wells said.

Senior guard Daley Rice (5-9) drives the offense as a complete two way player. She rebounds distributes and defends with purpose while also serving as a mature voice for a roster that leans heavily on her versatility. Rice averaged 9.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists and shot 40% from the field. Karma Mason (6-2, So.) post player steps into a larger role after gaining valuable experience as a freshman. Her height and touch make her a dependable interior option with the chance to become a dominant presence. Mason accounted for 4.8 points and 3.3 rebounds per game.
Tarilyn Thierry (5-7, Sr.) and Chrishelle Milum (5-8, Jr.) bring toughness and experience to the perimeter rotation. Their defensive ability and steady play allow Shawnee to pressure opponents while staying in system. JaNyah Bruner (5-9, Jr.) is a transfer from Tecumseh and Amiyah Briones (5-6, So.) are two players looking to contribute to the overall success of the team.
Other players to watch include Taylor Bailey (6-0, Jr.), Abigail Clements (5-7, Jr.), Tatyanna Thierry (5-7, Jr.), Kyree Alexander (5-6, Jr.), Eliana Shields (5-6, Fr.) and Aniya Kowena (5-6, Sr.). Clements may be the smartest player on the court at home or away.
With physicality inside veteran backcourt play and a clear vision for improvement Shawnee expects to remain a threat in the postseason conversation.
