OUTLOOK
Entering his 20th season with the Edmond Bulldogs, head coach Shane Cowherd returns a young, but talented team. With just a few upperclassmen with solid experience, this season could find the Bulldogs with several underclassmen on the court.
“The Dogs will be young and inexperienced, but talented. Look for us to improve greatly over the course of the season. The Bulldogs will have three players that lost all last season to injury rejoining the existing cast and young talent that will greatly affect our season–along with getting back Bode Lashley who missed half the season with a broken leg. Losing them last season before the year began changed our year,” coach Cowherd said.

Jack Sheriff (6-2, Sr.) does make his return at guard where he accounted for 6.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game last season. Sheriff should help younger players adjust and mature into their roles as starters. Sheriff is a 4.0 student and a leader on and off the court. His involvement in his community and church is another example of his leadership.
Deacon Hawley (Fr.) is one of those underclassmen coach Cowherd referred to and could be one of the go-to players in the lineup this season.
“Deacon will play a pivotal role as a ninth grader. Very few freshmen athletes have cracked the lineup over the years at EMHS, but those that do impact the game at a high level. Deacon has that ability on both ends of the floor,” coach Cowherd said.
Coach Cowherd mentioned the return of Bode Lashley (5-10, Sr.), who makes his way back to the lineup after suffering an injury last season. In early contests, Lashley has made some big shots from the three-point line and looks like the answer at shooting guard for the Bulldogs. His play is crucial for the Bulldogs success this season.
