OUTLOOK
The cupboards are full for head coach Tara Satterfield and the Lady Wildcats.
“With all five starters returning and healthy, and some added depth from the freshmen class, we are working hard with some big goals in front us. This team is locked in and looking forward to an exciting season,” coach Satterfield said.
Ava Gascon (5-4, Sr.) will lead the way statistically after averaging 14.9 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 2.2 assists per game. Gascon will start at point guard where her shooting range comes into play along with her ability to dribble and drive to the basket. Gascon can create for teammates like Lexi Tucker (5-11, Sr.) at forward and Bailey Tucker (5-6, Jr.) at guard. Lexi averaged 13.8 points and 6.0 rebounds a game while taking 14 charges over the season. Bailey accounted for 8.6 points and 7.3 rebounds a game with 2.2 assists and 1.4 steals.
Layla Menhusen (5-10, Sr.) continues to develop as a solid player in the paint. Menhusen averaged 2.7 points and 4.1 rebounds a game and her production will be crucial to the overall success of the team this season. Also look for Kinley Bowles (5-9, Jr.) to figure into the lineup at guard. Bowles averaged 5.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game.
Other players to watch include Lilly Ingmire (5-9, So.), Lindsey Brock (5-8, Jr.), Hailey Hanmer (5-3, So.), and Faith Robinson (5-3, So.). A large freshman class is working hard to contribute this season as they mature into their roles on the team. That group includes Trinity Branham (6-0), Kae Kae Mendoza (5-9), Mackenna Burhenn (5-9), Lairmey Echelle (5-5), Scarlett Hopper (5-5), and Tensley Howser (5-6).
